March Marlins had a very eventful weekend with several swimmers winning medals and earning county championship qualifying times.

A group of swimmers attended the Corby Amateur Swimming Club Open Meet at the international pool.

All the swimmers put in fantastic performances to achieve 43 personal bests.

Gold: Connor Rickard (200 breaststroke), Isla Staton (200 butterfly).

Silver: Harriet Feaviour (100 free, 100 individual medley), Niamh O’Donoghue (400m freestyle), Isla Staton (100 fly, 200 IM) Jacob Ure (50 breast 200 IM).

Bronze: Wilson Brewer (100 back), Harriet Feaviour (50 fly,100 backstroke), Niamh O’Donoghue (200 back), Connor Rickard (50 free, 50 breast,100 breast).

Elsewhere, ten brave swimmers competed in the 800m races at the City of Ely Swimming Club Mixed Open at the Hive Leisure Centre.

For many of the talented swimmers, it was their first experience of an 800m race, but they showed great resilience and achieved impressive times to make their head coach very proud.

Meanwhile, Jude Staton was selected to be a part of the Cambridgeshire team at the national county team championships.

He had the honour of swimming the 50-metre freestyle in the medley relay.
