Seventeen swimmers from Marlins competed in the Stowmarket No Frill Open meet.

The event is a very important one for the swimmers as it is the final option to earn a county qualifying time to compete at the famous championships which are going to be held on January 28, and February 3 and 4.

Marlins swimmers all put forward fine showings with 39 achieving PBs.

There were no medals awarded at the event, but the swimmers still enjoyed lots of top-three finishes in their age categories.

Six super swimmers even came away from the event with county championship qualifying times along with the ones already achieved by the squad’s talent.

One of the particularly impressive achievements was Harriet Feaviour, 9, who achieved a county time on her debut having recently turned nine, which allowed her to compete at the event.

County time achievers were: Ant Hall (50 butterfly), Harriet Feaviour (50 freestyle, 100 free, 100 IM, 50 free), Archie McClure (100 IM, 200 fly, 50 fly), Christopher Scott (100 IM), Isla Staton (100 backstroke, 100 free, 200IM, 200 back), Noah Staton (200IM, 100 free 1st, Eden Davies (50 back, 100 back), Alfie McClure (400 free), Archie McClure (100IM, 200 fly, 200IM, 50 back), Luis Suoto-Hill (200IM 2nd, Harry Rickard (200IM), Mason Riley (50 back), Noah Cowin (100 back, 400 free) Ant Hall (100 back), Christopher Scott (100 free, 100IM).
