Marlins Shine in a Busy Weekend of Competition
The Marlins had an eventful weekend, hosting the first round of the Junior Fenland League at Manor Leisure on March 8th.
This year, the club introduced two teams—Marlins Blue and Marlins Pink. While blue remains the club’s primary color, the swimmers have been wearing pink hats at competitions for easier identification, as many teams also wear blue.
This change has been incorporated into their new club kit, adding a touch of pink to their clothing.
The introduction of two teams has provided more swimmers with the opportunity to compete, reflecting the club’s growth.
In this round, Marlins Blue secured an impressive second-place finish, while Marlins Pink finished fourth, competing against strong teams from Ely and Thetford. The swimmers delivered outstanding performances, achieving a remarkable 48 personal bests (PBs) and demonstrating excellent team spirit with enthusiastic support for their teammates.

Meanwhile, some of the club’s talented older swimmers had the honor of competing at the Putteridge Swimming Club Long Course Summer National Qualifier, held at Inspire Sports Village in Luton. This Level 1 competition demands high qualification times, and all Marlins swimmers rose to the challenge, putting in a tremendous effort. It was a fantastic weekend of competition, showcasing both the depth and talent within the Marlins club.
