March Marlins swimmers were in attendance at the final round of the club championships which started back in September.

The event holds a high level of importance as it introduces swimmers into the world of competitive swimming, checks their progress and helps them qualify for other competitions.

Overall, 60 swimmers swam at the championship. There was a great atmosphere thanks to all the encouragement from clubmates and volunteers.

The event saw fine performance with 130 PBs recorded to show the continuous development of the swimming squad.

The final results of the Club Championships will be announced at the presentation in December.

As well as training the competitive swimmers, March Marlins provides the Swim England 'Learn To Swim' Framework swim lessons to participants aged four and over at The Empress Pool in Chatteris.

Also runs sessions for adults to improve their swimming.

In Scarborough Alice Camplin, Hannah Camplin and Annie Gooch attended a special Olympics Swimming Gala.

They had a great time and were lucky enough to meet Oli Hynd MBE who has won gold medals at the Paralympics in London and Rio.

The group were so happy to have met someone who has inspired them with their hobby and they showed their talent with some fabulous performances in their races.

Hannah took home a gold in 50m freestyle race.

Alice earned three golds in 25m butterfly, 50m breaststroke and 50m backstroke. She enjoyed a successful day as well bringing back three bronzes in the 25m backstroke, 50m freestyle and 50m breatstroke.

Elsewhere, the Marlins have been showing their brilliance, but this time out of the pool, with six swimmers and Head Coach Sue Cole attending the remembrance parade in town to show their respect.
