Eighty-four swimmers gathered for the March Marlins annual festive event - the Nemo Gala.

The event was a huge success and marks the end of a busy and successful year.

The gala saw six teams competing against each other in lots of fun and festive races such as; the snowflake race, the bauble and spoons race and the jingle bells race.

Swimmers who usually attend lessons but haven’t raced before got medals for showing bravery and attending their first-ever gala. The brave young swimmers were: Jesse Batizovszky Harvey Chapman, Alfie McKie, Darcie Garner.

Team Crush came out on top to win the event.

The team was captained by Connor Rickard with Isla Staton and Lily Purrell as vice-captains while the rest of the team included Kitty Payne Mason Riley Archie McClure Mason Wilmer Megan Dolbear-Zelenska Eden Davies Alfie Mckie Olivia Hall Chloe Mills Quinn Frickleton Thomas Diffey.

Training restarts again on January 2 as the Marlins strive to better this year’s achievements in 2024.

Marlins is a very friendly swimming club that helps to motivate swimmers and help support their physical and mental health.

The club’s coaches do a fantastic job to grow the confidence and elevate the performances of the swimmers.
